Beyond the Obvious

There have been many case studies over the years that clearly substantiate the value of automatic roll change in narrow- and mid-web printing operations. Increased production and substrate waste reductions can be tracked to calculate an ROI analysis that can justify adding roll-change automation to printing presses. However, process improvements such as automation impact many other facets of your operation that are not readily measured or ordinarily considered as part of an ROI analysis. Collectively these secondary benefits represent a significant overall operational improvement.

Martin Automatic opens its doors for 30 area high school students

On Wednesday, April 6th, Martin Automatic invited 27, 11th and 12th grade students from nearby Winnebago High School's pre-engineering and manufacturing technology classes to come tour their facilities. Seven of these students are part of the school's competitive robotics team and have had a lot of academic engineering exposure but this tour offered them the opportunity to see industrial applications. "It is great for these kids to be able to see how their engineering interests get put into real life applications" reports John Siebel, Production Manager for Martin Automatic. "I have been taking engineering classes since I was in 6th grade and this is the first manufacturing facility that I have toured, so it is cool to see how big the machinery is that is being built inside this building" reported one senior student.
